Aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO company Dornier Technology (Do Tech) has invested us $8 Million(about P344 Million) in new equipment and software for its line and base maintenance operations.
Do Tech general manager Janos Reyes said, “The investment will improve our inventory of available tools and equipment by up to 10 times.” This means a more efficient and competitive servicing of clients’ aircraft, including A320s, A330s, Boeing 737s and ATRs, he added.
Among the new purchases are components maintenance and repair equipment in line with Do Tech’s plans to introduce a new service – the servicing, overhaul, and repair of aircraft components such as Cabin Components Repair, Composite, Battery, Avionics, NDT, Structures Repair, Emergency Equipment Overhaul and Wheels and Brakes.
“We are the second company in the Philippines that’s able to do this. We are also applying for a license and will be the first in the country licensed to do service, overhaul and repair components” says Reyes.
Another exciting purchase is the GE Everest XLGR VideoProbe, today’s most capable video boresope. It allows for bright distinct images of an aircraft engine’s insides, making for faster and more efficient inspection.
Other additions include a complete line of tools and equipment for a C check, a periodic inspection required of commercial or civil aircraft after operating in 7500FH; a complete array of Hydo brand aircraft jacks, wheels and breaks shope equipment, and component maintenance equipment. The company plans on setting up components for emergency equipment, a rather broad segment that covers various categories such as bottles category slide raft category, among others.
On top of the MRO Company’s investment in hardware, is the investment license for a Pentagon Software, which will be used in all departments, from operations to logistics to purchasing and finance. The new software will allow mobile access or use of tables during aircraft inspection. It will track inventory and make financial management more efficient.
Bottom line is, said Reyes, the new software will reduce human errors, and double personnel productivity by 100%.
Do Tech has also made additional investments in computer, wireframe, server, barcodes, tables, and training of personnel to use the new system.
